Woodovis Park
Website: www.woodovis.com

After heading down the tree-lined private drive that stretches for half a mile from the main village road to this site, you are greeted by John and Dorothy Lewis with the kind of friendly, polite, service that almost belongs to a different age.
The site's 50 pitches are thoughtfully arranged in a way that allows you to drink in the stunning Devon scenery. They are separated into two areas, allowing those with families to be close to the well-equipped play area and indoor heated swimming pool, while couples are able to pitch in another area where you could well imagine you were on a small CL or CS. This is quite a feat, and means that the park will appeal to just about all types of visitor.
The owners and their staff work extremely hard to offer all the facilities that a discerning motorcaravanner might require (for instance, the shop sells home-made bread). And, regular staff meetings are held every month to discuss ways in which the site could be improved.
This charming little site not only has almost everything you might find at larger sites but also adds a welcome atmosphere and friendliness that they could never hope to match.
 • 18.5 miles to Plymouth Hoe where Sir Francis Drake played bowls in the face of the Armada.
