Surrounded by tall hedges, Jasmine Park is small but beautifully laid-out. As proof of its harmony with nature, the site holds a David Bellamy Gold Medal. More than 70 numbered and level pitches are neatly laid out within the tall green walls that border the perimeter.
The amenities are basic, and the only leisure facility comes in the form of a small games field with an adjoining football pitch. However, the toilet and shower facilities are first rate: spotlessly clean and in full working order. There is even a telephone box beside the toilet block, along with a full set of telephone directories. The site hasn’t scrimped on security, either; a fact reflected by its ’Secured by Design’ award.
As for the pitches, they cover the basics extremely well. All have 10A electric hook-up, but only five are hardstanding.
A toilet-emptying facility is tucked away in the corner of the park, and colourful flowers can be seen throughout the year: indeed, the site has won several awards for its flowers, including
a ‘Yorkshire In Bloom’ award.
Overall, this is a must for those seeking peace and quiet, who want to get back to the roots of motorcaravanning and can provide their own entertainment.
The site is well signed from main road, but is confusing once you enter the narrow single-track road from the main road to the site. The single-track road has passing places, but they’re
not really big enough for very long motorhomes.
Nearby attractions include an 18-bay floodlit golf course, and the seaside resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, and Filey. Historic York, with it’s beautiful minster and Jorvik Viking Centre is also close by and well worth a visit.
