This spectacular Caravan Club site has been well-publicised since its refurbishment over
the past few years. Club members, and in fact the general touring public, have been encouraged to come and sample Trewethett Farm for themselves. As a result, this
has become one of the most popular destinations in the South West and deservedly so. Even when fully booked in the peak August period, the site never seems overcrowded.
The campsite is set high above Bosinney Cove, midway between Tintagel and Boscastle, and close to the delightful town of Tintagel.
The main pitching area is
laid out on several level
terraces cut into the hillside.
An additional mobile toilet and shower facility is brought
onto the site for campers and tourers sited on the top field. This is a necessary measure during the busy summer months, to cope with the demands of the site's ever-increasing number of visitors.
There are fire extinguisher points in all areas and clearly marked water points. The main toilet block is spotlessly pristine but this comes as no surprise
as every aspect of the park is diligently well-maintained.
The Cornish Coastal Path
cuts through the edge of Trewethett Farm and offers quite stunning views in all directions. From your pitch
and the coastal path there
are almost daily sightings of basking sharks, dolphins, seals, peregrine falcons, razorbills and puffins. And you can even enjoy a spot of mackerel fishing.
For beach-lovers, nearby Bosinney Cove is worth a visit, but Bude or Trebarwith Strand are better for families with young children.
This site looks out across
the Atlantic and allows you
to witness the wide range of weather, from calm sunsets to wild, howling gales. You can expect a few good storms
each year but for those who erect awnings the chances of damage are slim.
Finally, the level terraces are sufficiently isolated from access roads, so children cycling on site are perfectly safe.
It's hard to find a better
site than this little Cornish gem.
