Visitors to Sun Valley will find
a large, beautifully maintained holiday park with superb facilities and level pitches. This site deserves its English Tourist Council five-star rating.
It is a park with mainly static holiday caravans and a large
old house converted into holiday apartments, but there's plenty of room for motorhomes. The touring area is set in the centre of things and is very well set-up and maintained.
There are only 22 pitches but they are not set areas, and are rotated after each pitch is vacated so that the grass is never completely destroyed as it can be at many other sites.
The pitches are large, too, being roughly 15 x 10m square, and all of them have 10A electric hook-up. There are also five hardstanding pitches on offer. Wherever you are sited, you
are only ever a mere 10m away from fresh water taps.
If you send a shopping list in advance of your arrival, the staff will even have your order waiting for you to collect, directly from the site shop.
There is one toilet block on site but this is no ordinary facility. It has two unisex toilet rooms and eight well-equipped family bathrooms.
In terms of entertainment, you will never be stuck for something to do here. There is a clubhouse and restaurant on site (open in the evenings) which serves a variety of good pub-style food. There's also a takeaway service throughout the day. The children can enjoy an excellently maintained play area and (if it rains) an arcade with video games, pool tables, air hockey and table tennis. For the really young ones there is a new indoor soft play area with slides and a ball pool. If that isn't enough, there are bicycles for hire, tennis courts to play on and even a pair of donkeys in a paddock at the entrance. The best on-site facility however,
is the heated indoor swimming pool. This is absolutely superb, and a real treat for everyone.
All in all Sun Valley is a fun, spacious and immaculate site.
