Here’s some good news for anyone who’s uploaded a video to YouTube and then lost the original version.

Google now offers the option to download previously uploaded content as part of its broader ‘Takeaway’ site that also offers data downloads for some of its other services.

Here’s some good news for anyone who’s uploaded a video to YouTube and then lost the original version.

Google now offers the option to download previously uploaded content as part of its broader ‘Takeaway’ site that also offers data downloads for some of its other services.

The only catch is that there’s no way to select an individual video for download and it’s all or nothing — and that can result in some very large downloads indeed.

The videos are downloaded in their original high-quality format though, unlike individual videos, which can still only be downloaded in their YouTube-converted form
