[tl:gallery index=0 size=103×155]Our Gentleman Jack Bancroft is an irredeemable motorcaravaning enthusiast. His family have been camping, caravanning and motorcaravanning since 1928. Jack and his wife Flora are now on their tenth motorhome, a 2003 Auto-Sleeper Pollensa on a Ford Transit base. They have toured extensively at home and abroad, including a period of full-timing. Here, Jack answers your motorcaravanning queries:

Q: We’ve just been talking to a signwriter who says that you may be able to help with the design of the original graphics on our Herald Emblem. We’ve just bought ‘her’ and she has been resprayed and looks like new but is bare. All I can find are pictures of Herald coachbuilts. Incidentally the mileage says 48,000 in 17 years. Could this be correct?

A: [tl:gallery index=1 size=273×181]Recently I’ve been asked this type of question more often, presumably because the first generation of individually decorated motorcaravans are getting to the age when they’ll require major attention to their coachwork. As Eddie and Joy live near me, I popped over with a couple of big prints. It’s impossible to say whether the mileage is genuine but having seen the motorhome, my gut feeling is that she’s a ‘Duesy’, that is, excellent!
